New Bollywood 2012- Kahaani song dedicated to Kolkata

The first song of Vidya Balan’s upcoming movie Kahaani, Ami Shotti Bolchi… that was released on Friday, is a tribute to the City of Joy. It’s a funky grunge sung by Usha Uthup and Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy.  “My film has two heroines, Vidya Balan and Kolkata, and this song was for the

latter,” says director Sujoy Ghosh. “The words, Ami Shotti Bolchi (I’m speaking the truth) just popped out while chatting with Vishal (co-composer Vishal Dadlani) and became the starting point for a song that’s been shot on the streets of Kolkata.”
From the iconic Howrah Bridge and Victoria Memorial to Kumartuli, the idol makers’ colony, and into a Durga Puja pandal during the vermilion ceremony before visarjan (immersion of the idol) on Dusshera, Ami shotti bolchi…takes one on a virtual tour of the city during the annual Durga Puja. Vidya goes searching for her missing husband in a Ambassador taxi, hitches a ride in a red police jeep, looks morosely out of a tram and even visits the Metro station.

“A large chunk of our tight budget went into ensuring that no one fell on the platform or on to the tracks during the shoots at three Metro stations—Kalighat, Jatin Das Park and Mahanayak Uttam Kumar,” admits Sujoy. “Everywhere, the unit was followed by huge crowds of star-gazers and eventually Vidya became our crowd controller. When things got out of hand, we’d send her out to entreat her fans to let us shoot.”

The song starts off with the actor trying to convince a cop that her name is Vidya and not Bidda and it ends with her shaking her head as a Visitor’s Pass is made out to Bidda Bagchi. “Vidya herself told me that in Kolkata she was always Bidda Balan. That stayed in my mind and found its way into the script and this song,” smiles Sujoy.

They also shot at Kalighat police station and the police headquarters at Lal Bazar. “Our actors were dressed in the same white uniform and since actual cops continued to do their work while we did ours, many believed that the Kolkata police were acting in my movie,” chuckles the director. “They weren’t, we’d only got permission to shoot in their domain.”

After Saat Khoon Maaf’s (2011) chartbusting Darling last year, Usha flags off the New Year with Ami shotti bolchi. “I’ve always wanted Didi to sing for me but didn’t approach her till Vishal came up with this song,” says Sujoy. “It’s trademark Kolkata and Didi is the voice of Kolkata.”

Kareena Kapoor, who has earlier worked with Aamir Khan and will now be seen with his nephew Imran Khan in " Ek Main Aur Ek Tu", feels Aamir is the maestro of the film industry.

"Aamir's body of work is unbelievable. He is the maestro of the industry and Imran is just starting out. Working with Imran is a lot of fun. I think he is a marvellous actor and I hope we get to work together in the future too," the 31-year-old actress said.

Kareena, who is ready with her next two films "Ek Main Aur EK Tu" and " Agent Vinod" is, however, missing from the promotions of the latter movie.

She said her priority was "Ek Main Aur Ek Tu" at the moment.

"Right now 'Ek Main Aur Ek Tu' is in the priority. 'Agent Vinod' is like an action thriller and you know... let Saif do the talking and I think he has been out for the media for a while. You enjoy him for a while and may be I will step in before the film releases," she said.

Abhishek Bachchan Upcoming - Arnold’s no-show for Abhishek Bachchan

Abhishek Bachchan Upcoming

Arnold Schwarzenegger  preferred to gorge on naan and daal over presenting an award to Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan. The 64-year-old Hollywood actor-turned- politician was due to attend the Green Globe Foundation Awards in Delhi on Thursday evening to present Abhishek with a trophy for

Outstanding Contribution by a Celebrity in creating a greener environment. But Arnie, as he is fondly called, skipped the gala to dine at Hotel ITC Maurya’s Bukhara restaurant.
Organisers of the event were befuddled at this. “We went to him asking him to come, but he just didn’t,” says a source. Abhishek, on the other hand, pleaded ignorance. “I had no idea. I wasn’t told anything like that (about being presented an award by Arnie). I was just told that I’ll be honoured,” he said.

Schwarzenegger, however, tried making up for his absence by congratulating Abhishek on Twitter. “Congrats on the Green Globe, @juniorbachchan. More celebrities should be pumping up green progress. I’ll be back, & we should get together (sic),” he posted.

At Bukhara, Arnie asked for tandoori fare — sikandari raan, tandoori jhinga, dal bukhara, bharwan kulcha and ended the meal with kulfi and rasmalai. A cigar connoisseur, he also went shopping for cigars at Kastros at the Santushti Complex. “He bought a pack of Cuban cigars from here. I couldn’t meet him, but he left a cigar for me,” says Manish Datt, owner of the store.

Arnie gorges on tikkas in Delhi Arnold Schwarzenegger, 64, is on his maiden India visit. The Hollywood actor-turned-politician arrived at the Taj Palace hotel on Wednesday evening at  and checked into the Club suite. He is invited to the Capital as the guest of honour at the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit.

Later, Arnie dined at the Hotel’s Indian restaurant, Masala Art, where he stuck to starters and desserts. “He relished the jaitooni mahi tikka (tandoor fish prepared in olive marination), doodhiya murg tikka, sarson ke phool and dahi ki tikki. Later, he had a dessert platter,” says a source. Arnie will fly out on Saturday.

Vanessa Hudgen's sunny yellow dress make you feel warm inside? Vote below..

Vanessa Hudgen's sunny yellow dress

Vanessa Hudgens stole the show at last night’s Journey 2: The Mysterious Island premiere in Los Angeles wearing a sunny yellow dress so bright it should come with free sunglasses.

Vanessa proved she’s more than got her fashion mojo back with the canary yellow dress – a colour that’s proved pretty popular with the style elite of late and may have something to do with the fact it makes people feel HAPPY!

Think of it as colour therapy if you will - then beat the January blues with a boost of February yellow on the high street.

V-Hudge’s backless yellow gown features a pleated maxi skirt (also a big trend) while she wore her jet black hair in loose curls and completed the look with her signature Grecian-inspired armlet, gold hoop earrings and a smattering of boho’ jewels.

Talaash Movie 2012 - Aamir Khan scores Rs. 90 crore deal

Talaash Movie 2012

Aamir Khan seems to have created a record yet again. Beating Shah Rukh Khan's Don 2 by a margin of Rs 10 crore, the theatrical rights for his forthcoming film co-starring Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji, Talaash has been sold to Reliance for Rs 90 crore.

The deal between producer Excel Entertainment and Reliance was finalised last week. A source close to the production house informed Mumbai Mirror, "Rs 90 crore is a huge amount. Don 2 sold for Rs 80 crore and that was already an established franchise. This however, puts a lot of recovery pressure on Talaash."

Trade analyst Amod Mehra however, did not feel that the amount was too surprising. "I think it's a reasonable amount," said Mehra.

Excel Entertainment and Reliance remained unavailable for comment.
